Abstrak: Ketika membuka Temu Nasional (Indonesian Summit) 2009 di Jakarta, Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono menyampaikan stateman resmi dan meminta Mendiknas Muhammad Nuh; "(1) mengubah metodologi pembelajaran yang lebih berpusat kepada siswa, seperti: cooperatif learning, problem solving base learning, dan diskusi kelas. Metodologi pembelajaran sekarang ini dinilai tidak mendorong siswa menjadi kreatif dan inovatif sehingga sulit memunculkan semangat kemandirian dan jiwa kewirausahaan anak didik; (2) menyelenggarakan pendidikan berbasis karakter. Mendiknas menyatakan akan segera mereformasi sistem pendidikan dan metodologi pembelajaran, tentu mengkaji terlebih dahulu yang sedang diterapkan selama ini", demikian Kompas, 30 Oktober 2009.

Efektivitas Model Pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pada Sub Materi Kelainan dan Penyakit pada Siste Peredaran Darah Manusia di Kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak

The purpose of this research is to find out the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on sub material about abnormality and disease of human blood circulation system to the eleventh year IPA student (Class XI IPA) of SMA Negeri 6 Pontianak. The method used in this research is pre experimental design (quasy experimental) namely control group pre-test post-test design. The sampling strategy to be used in this research is cluster sampling, that is all of the population used as sample. The sample of this research consists of two classes, class XI IPA 1 experimental group and class XI IPA 2 as control group. Based on the result of data analysis, the students average score that learnt by using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model (26,02) is higher than conventional model (19,23). From U Mann Whitney test showed Zvalue = -3,54 meanwhile Ztable = -1,96, this means there is a significant difference between the students average score of experimental group and control group on the level 5%. The score of effect size is 1,04 or can be categorized high, and if it is viewed from the normal graph standard, therefore the teaching learning process through Problem-Based learning (PBL) model gives contribution 35,08% on the students achievement.

Upaya Meningkatkan Penguasaan Konsep dan Aktivitas Siswa pada Materi Keanekaragaman Kingdom Plantae di Kelas XC SMAN 4 Pontianak

Abstract: This research (Classroom Action Research) has a goal to develop students enquiring concept and students activity at tenth grade student of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak in learning the diversity of kingdom plantae through reciprocal teaching model. There are two cycles of this research, the first cycle consist of twice meeting, and at second cycle once meeting. Subject of this research is 32 students, consist of 20 females and 12 males. The instruments are objective test in multiple choices which to know students enquiring concept and observation sheet to know students activity. The result showed, at first cycle the average score of the students 64,06 and 67,92 at second cycle. The average percentage of students activity 62,5% in first cycle and 68,5% in second cycle. It concluded that reciprocal teaching model able to improve students enquiring concept and students activity.

Abstract: This Study aims to determine the diversity of birds in the protected forest area of the Senujuh Mountain, Sambas regency. The research of method used the point count and line transect. The results of identification obtained by 15 family with 23 species based on direct findings and character voices and 5 family with 8 species based on the results of interviews with people around forest areas that show the whole area has a high diversity of birds.
